Filter

If you want to use a filter, here you can make all the adjustments for the filter-page.

Basics of the filter: To use the filter, you have to create a page which has a random name, for example, filter or range of products. To this page you then have to apply the filter-template.

Then the basics for the filter are laid. Now you can place one or more filter on your page. For this, there are 2 different methods available:

The horizontal filter in the page-builder: In the page-builder you have the possibility to use a horizontal filter. Just add the element “filter” at the desired position and choose, which element should be available for the user. You can choose between the following elements:

• Price
• Rating
• Taxonomies
• Own fields

The ‘own fields’ have a specialty: Only fields of the types number, yes/no and selection field will be displayed. All further field types cannot be filtered.

Fields of the number-type will be automatically displayed as slider. Here’s an example:

The filter widget (example): You can integrate the filter-widget in any given sidebar. You find the widget under Design › Widgets under the name affiliatetheme.io › Filter. After you used it, you have the same options as with the horizontal filter in the page-builder. You can choose between:

• Price
• Rating
• Taxonomies
• Own fields

After saving, the filter appears at the desired position in the sidebar. Within the widget, the user has always the option to reset the set parameters. For this there’s the link “reset filter”.

In Options › Products › Filter you can additionally determine the output of the products on the filter-page. You have the following options:

Sidebar

Determine the position of your sidebar on the filter-page, or deactivate it completely.

Proportion (content/sidebar)

Provided you have activated the sidebar, you can determine here the proportion between the content and the sidebar. This means, you can switch between a narrow or wider sidebar. Just see how your widgets work best.

Layout

Determine the display of your products (list, grid).

Products per page

Set the number of products per page. The value -1 stands for all, there will be no pagination then.

User filter

With this option, you give your visitors the possibility to manually control the sorting and the display. For this, a new bar is added above the listing.
