My shortcode button is gone

If the shortcode button appears to be gone in our visual editor, there is only 2 common reasons for that:

Maybe we made an update with a JavaScript change to the theme and your browser is still loading the old version. In this case the solution is to clear your browser cache. You can do this via the browser settings or by simply clicking Shift+F5.

Another problem that we commonly get to see are plugins that replace the TinyMCE editor, and therefor load their own button rather than our shortcode button.

These plugins are especially like the PageBuilder plugin by Siteorigins. Sadly there is no option available, besides not having one of the two.
